Classic Christmas Tablescape

Simplicity. Sounds simple (hee hee). For me it’s really not easy. I like to add stuff and more stuff! Sometimes I wish I could be more like my older sister who is really a minimalist. Especially at Christmas time, there seems to be so much going on and I tend to go overboard in some areas. (ok…ALL areas).

What can I say, I love Christmas. My husband will tell me I don’t have to decorate every nook and cranny of the house for every holiday! I tell him that’s the part I enjoy. But that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated!! If you have the time then by all means go for the complex. I love seeing ornate, cool décor.

Send me pictures!!! But for the overwhelmed, or minimalist or even the ‘I’m simplifying this year’ person, and last but not least…’I have kids and need a kid friendly Christmas table’…. this Christmas tablescape is for you! Really it’s just…

  1. A tablecloth (which is not even needed if you want to show off your table). This tablecloth is an outdoor one that I leave on pretty much all the time.
  2. Placemats, to give definition to the place setting. Again, these are outdoor placemats made from PVC. I keep these on the table all the time. (Keep in mind if you keep them on all the time they need to be cleaned consistently.). Simple place setting of plate, silverware and in this case a paper napkin. Add in your favorite outdoor or kid friendly ‘glasses’ (These are plastic).
  3. Candlesticks with candles. These are faux candles that operate with batteries. (again, very kid friendly)
  4. Battery powered, lighted, holiday garland of your choice!
  5. ….oh wait….that’s it!!!!

Simple, quick, easy, and looks pretty dang good if I do say so myself!!
