Pumpkins, Purple and Pecan Pie!

Ok, so I maybe didn’t make a pecan pie for this tablescape, but now I really want one! But only a homemade one. Hmm…how many laps would I have to do to eat half a pie….I digress. Fall is an amazing time of year. Here in Arizona our leaves turn and change about Christmas time or January, so fall is different. It’s gorgeous! The weather turns perfect.

One day a little warm, perfect for an outside dinner in your flip flops and the next a sweatshirt and hot cocoa by a fire. Does that mean I don’t put up tons of fall décor and lights pumpkin spice candles everyday?! Even when it’s mid 80’s?! No way! It’s fall in my house! I’ve passed that love to my children and they have obsession love of autumn!

I use a lot of real pumpkins in my decorating. One of the reasons is they’re much less expensive than faux ones, but really because it brings a “wow” factor. Every time someone walks in my house I get asked, “Are those real?” However, outside I have faux ones. It’s Arizona! A nice hot day makes for mushy pumpkins!

When I think of fall I think mostly of reds, yellows and oranges, but I have to say one of my favorite combinations is white pumpkins with a deep rich purple and a silvery green. Cabbage allows for that in this tablescape. I love using cabbage because it’s so versatile. (This cabbage is faux on this table because it loves cold and it’s not cold right now).

It can be used in fall, winter and spring décor. The color is a perfect match for our deep purple here. But can it be used with bunnies on your Easter table and be amazing! If you happen to live somewhere chilly try and find some of the real stuff and know I might be a little jealous!
